The Lanzarote Acción Civil organization has issued an "urgent warning about the dangerous sinking of the road on Aires de Lima street, in the Argana neighborhood." "This deterioration of the road (approximately 5 cm) that has been worsening in recent weeks, represents a serious risk for residents and passers-by in the area, as well as for traffic.

According to the statement, "the sinking, which affects several meters of the road, is causing concern among the residents of Argana, who fear for the safety of their daily commutes. Lanzarote Acción Civil has received numerous citizen complaints alerting about the risk of accidents, especially for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, who are more exposed to the irregularities of the road." From the organization, they make an urgent call to the Arrecife city council to "act immediately" in the repair of the road.

"This type of problem not only affects road safety, but also the quality of life of the residents of Argana. We need a quick and effective response to avoid more serious situations," they declare. In addition, Lanzarote Acción Civil urges the city council to carry out periodic inspections on the roads of the capital of Lanzarote to prevent future incidents related to wear and sinking of the road, as has recently occurred in several streets of the Argana neighborhood.

Finally, the association explains that the residents of the area have thanked them for the "visibility of the problem, as they are concerned not only about the state of the road, but also about the possible impact on the underground infrastructure and the risk that this could pose to services in the area."
