Aitor Galán, director of the Port of Arrecife, dies

For its part, the Port Authority of Las Palmas has expressed its deepest condolences for his death

The director of the Port Authority of the Port of Arrecife, Aitor Galán.

The director of the Port Authority of the Port of Arrecife, Javier Aitor Galán Robles, has died this Wednesday in Lanzarote. As La Voz has been able to confirm, Galán died on the morning of this January 8, at the age of 55.

For its part, the Port Authority of Las Palmas has expressed its deepest condolences for the death of Aitor Galán. "Today we have been informed of the worst news about our colleague Aitor: the unexpected death of a man who stood out for his collaborative spirit and his involvement in resolving port issues," stressed the president of the Port Authority, Beatriz Calzada.

The head of the Port of Arrecife was born in San Sebastián and had a degree in Law. He began working as a dock guard at the Port Authority in 1991 and, later, in 2019, he served as delegate of the Port of Arrecife, a position he currently held.

In addition, he is the uncle of the PSOE councilor of Teguise, Jenifer Galán.
