Aemet raises wind and swell warnings to orange for this Friday in Lanzarote

Wind gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour are expected on the island

The State Meteorological Agency has raised the warnings for wind and coastal phenomena to orange for this Friday in Lanzarote.

The island has had weather warnings activated for wind and coastal phenomena since Three Kings Day, but until now, they were only yellow. However, these warnings will be raised to orange this Friday, the wind warning between 08:00 and 14:00 hours, and the coastal phenomena warning between 10:00 and 15:00 hours.

During that time, wind gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour are expected on the island, while at sea there will be west or northwest wind of force 8, between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour. For the rest of Friday, the island will remain on yellow alert for both meteorological phenomena.

So far, the Aemet has not activated any rain warnings in Lanzarote, although it is raining heavily this Thursday on the island.
