Around 500 people have attended the Yaiza Classical Music Festival 2013, which has taken place from December 1st to December 7th. This encounter with art is thus consolidated in the cultural calendar of Lanzarote. This time, the Festival has hosted four concerts.
The quality of the invited artists and the interpretation of the works of masters of music history captivated the public. The concerts took place in the Yaiza House of Culture, the Santo Domingo Convent, in La Villa de Teguise, and Bodegas El Grifo.
Last Thursday, for example, Karen Shakhgaldyan and Pablo Martos, on the violin, Natalia Luvimova, on the viola, and the cellist Alberto Martos, performed, offering a recital with works by Beethoven and Alexander Borodin.
The Yaiza Classical Music Festival presented a program of young, experienced musicians with merits who have performed on international stages alongside renowned performing artists. The Russian Karen Shakhgaldyan has in her career concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in 15 countries in America, Europe, and Asia.
In addition, the brothers Pablo and Alberto Martos, trained in Spain and throughout Europe, debuted very young and continue their ascending career. Another of the participants, Natalia Lubimova, has won international competitions and continues to perform in her native Russia and various European countries, in addition to teaching in Germany.

The public was also able to enjoy Antuan Arutyunyan, who obtained the degree of professor of double bass and chamber performer with the highest level of the music school where he studied, in Russia, combining his teaching work as a guest artist at countless concerts. For the Classical Music Festival, it was also an honor to have the pianist Josu Okiñena, research coordinator of the Higher Music Center of the Basque Country, a master dedicated to pedagogical work and interpretation.
Okiñena has performed in some of the most prestigious halls in the world and has participated in renowned international festivals collaborating with famous orchestras. The organizers of the event, that is, the Education and Culture area of the Yaiza City Council and Rosi and Hans Croonenbroeck, have promised to continue their commitment to classical music.
