Lanzarote adds this Friday a new death related to the coronavirus, so there are already 77 since the pandemic began. No Covid-related deaths had been recorded on the island since August 19.
In the overall computation of the archipelago, in the last seven days there have been another five deaths, of which three are in Tenerife and two in Gran Canaria. All cases, aged between 68 and 89, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
Also, since last Friday, the Canary Islands has added 734 new positives in Covid-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is being monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to 101,601 people. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 246.71 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 145.16.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 107 people admitted to hospital for coronavirus, of which five are in the ICU and the rest, 102, are on the ward.
