Young people from the Villa de Teguise are tuning their instruments these days at the dawn of the birth of a new carnival batucada in the municipality. The practices, carried out during some afternoons of the week, derive from a percussion workshop organized by the Youth Area of the Teguise City Council in the first days of the year.
Now this group is encouraged and plans to participate in several of the local carnival events. In the municipality there is currently a batucada, "Menuda Caña", which has its social headquarters in Tahíche and several years of experience.
