A new boat has arrived this Wednesday in Lanzarote. Specifically, it has arrived on its own to La Garita beach in Arrieta, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The boat was detected after 5:00 p.m. when it was sailing near the coast of Jameos del Agua, but it finally made landfall before Maritime Rescue arrived to meet it.
Agents from the Local Police, the Red Cross, and the Civil Guard have traveled to the scene. There were 54 people of sub-Saharan origin on board, including seven women and one girl, who have been cared for on land by the Red Cross.
This is the second precarious boat that has arrived in Lanzarote this Wednesday. The first also arrived near the coast of the north of the island with 37 people on board.
