A floral offering commemorated the fifth anniversary of the Los Cocoteros tragedy

The Cabildo of Lanzarote commemorated this Saturday the fifth anniversary of the tragedy that occurred in 2009 in Los Cocoteros, where a boat capsized just 20 meters from the shore, leaving a terrible toll of 25 deaths, including 17 minors. The act consisted of a floral offering at the monolith that was erected in memory of the victims.

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Marciano Acuña, the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Immigration, Juan Antonio de la Hoz, and the Councilor for Roads and Works, José Antonio Gutiérrez, approached the area and placed flowers on this monolith.

In addition, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of this accident, a conference on social rights will be held this Monday, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Arrecife Civic Center. The conference will be given by Marci Acuña, Juan Antonio de la Hoz and the director of the Lanzarote Health area, Erasmo García de León.
