A boat intercepted near the coasts of Lanzarote

There could be about 58 people traveling in the boat, four women and a minor among them

Maritime Rescue has rescued a boat near the coast of Lanzarote, according to the Emergency Consortium.

There could be 58 people traveling in the boat, 53 men, 4 women and a minor among them, all of sub-Saharan origin and in apparent good health.

The event occurred at approximately 6:57 p.m. this Saturday in international waters, 30 nautical miles southeast of Arrecife.

The Guardamar has transferred them to Puerto Naos where they arrived at approximately 10:00 p.m. A group of 15 Red Cross volunteers assisted them on land and did not have to transfer any of the occupants of the boat to Molina Orosa.
