Arrecife woke up this Thursday with a blackout that started at around 8:25 am and left almost 2,000 homes and businesses in the capital without electricity for more than an hour.
According to La Voz from Endesa, the problem was caused by an excavator that was carrying out some works in the capital and that damaged a medium voltage cable. “It has nothing to do with our operation”, they specify.
Initially, they explain that the blackout affected about 5,000 customers, although more than half recovered their supply in the first few minutes. As for the rest, it was at 9:34 am when the problem was resolved.
Among the areas that have been affected is a good part of the maritime avenue, at the height of El Reducto, as well as its surroundings.
