Hail has surprised the residents of Playa Blanca at around three o'clock this Thursday afternoon. According to the video published by the user @StargazerLzt on his X account, you can see how a cloud unloads the small hailstones on the southern town despite almost reaching 30 degrees.
In addition, in the recording you can hear the impact that the ice causes on the camera itself. This hail has been the result of a cloud that has passed over Playa Blanca, since as can be seen in the video, the rest of the island was sunny and with high temperatures.
AEMET has reported that the possibility of storms in the Canary Islands these days is probable, although it is concentrated especially in the western islands. However, isolated atmospheric events such as this one in Lanzarote are not ruled out.
