More than thirty registered male and female lawyers from the island met last Friday in Arrecife in a professional gathering that has served to promote the creation and consolidation of the Lanzarote Young Lawyers Association, an initiative that seeks to strengthen ties among the youngest professionals of the island's legal profession and generate spaces for collaboration, training, and mutual support.

The meeting took place in a restaurant in Arrecife, an establishment that became the perfect setting for a close and relaxed meeting among colleagues. In a pleasant and participatory atmosphere, the attendees shared experiences, concerns, and common projects, thus consolidating a first contact that aspires to become the seed of a stable structure for the young legal profession of Lanzarote.

During the meeting, the importance of generating spaces for encounter among colleagues was highlighted, especially in the first years of professional practice, favoring the creation of support and collaboration networks that allow facing with greater strength the challenges of the legal profession.

This initiative is part of the drive that, from the Spanish Confederation of Young Lawyers (CEAJ), is being promoted throughout Spain to foster the creation and reactivation of groups of young lawyers in the different professional associations, with the aim of strengthening the profession from its early stages and reinforcing the sense of community among the youngest professionals.

In the words of the president of the Spanish Confederation of Young Lawyers, Alberto Cabello, “young lawyers need spaces for meeting, support, and shared growth. Lanzarote has an extraordinary generation of professionals and the creation of this group will be key to continue strengthening the profession on the island”.

For his part, Carlos Da Mata, president of the Canarian Federation of Young Lawyers and of the Association of Young Lawyers of Las Palmas, highlighted that “the creation of new young associations on the islands is fundamental to continue structuring young law in the Canary Islands. Lanzarote has professionals with enormous talent and commitment, and this initiative will allow strengthening collaboration among colleagues and generating new opportunities for professional development.”

The meeting held in Arrecife thus represents the first step towards the consolidation of the Young Lawyers Association of Lanzarote, which aspires to become a point of reference for the young lawyers of the island, promoting training activities, professional meetings, and projects that strengthen camaraderie and professional development.

The day concluded in an atmosphere of camaraderie and closeness, reflecting the spirit with which this new group is born: to create community, strengthen ties and build together the future of the legal profession in Lanzarote.
