The circulation in La Inés street in Arrecife, one of the central arteries that channels traffic in the center of the capital, has been improved by the City Council. The works for the creation of a second lane on this neuralgic road have already been completed in these weeks of August, in the section between Alegranza and Fajardo streets.
From the Consistory, Yonathan de León highlights that they have "accelerated the execution of these works as there are two schools in the area, CEIP La Destila, and Las Nazarenas, and the opening of the new academic year is scheduled for the second week of September."
The mayor has detailed that "the recent demolition of an old house existing on a plot between Alegranza, La Inés and Pasaje Julio Blancas streets, has allowed to widen the road, with the new urban alignment, provide sidewalks and open a second lane in this street of La Inés", between the Alegranza and Fajardo roads.
Arrecife Modernization Plan
All this work is part of the 'Municipal Plan for modernization' of the city with the execution of works aimed at "improving accessibility, construction of new zebra crossings without barriers, maintenance of existing parking spaces and resurfacing of the entire road".
The culmination of the works with the adaptation of La Inés street between the Eugenio D'Ors and Fajardo sections has given "a great advance in the urban mobility of this road, has remarked the Councilor for Mobility and Transport, the civil engineer, Mario González Altube. In addition, he recalled that recently in this environment, next to the La Destila school, "the streets surrounding the school building were remodeled with the 'Safe School Environments' project that the city council has underway.
The entire La Inés street has established the speed limit at 30 kilometers per hour for traffic in the urban area, he recalls.
