The Association of professional and independent women of Lanzarote renews its Board of Directors

The civic group of 72 entrepreneurial women and businesswomen from Lanzarote presents the members of the ATRIA board of directors

Following the latest and recent incorporations, ATRIA is now a civic group of 72 professional women, independent, entrepreneurs and businesswomen from Lanzarote. The presentation of its new board of directors and the new members was held this Wednesday, March 26, at the La Honorable restaurant in Tías.

An event attended by councilors from practically all the municipalities of the island, as well as the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque; the Councilor for Employment of the Cabildo, Ascensión Toledo; the Councilor for Culture and Universities of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín and the President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez. Also the president of the Lanzarote Tourist Board and Asolán, Susana Pérez.

Also attending were the representatives of the international association BPW in the Canary Islands (Business Professional Women), Victoria González, Rita Calero and Rosalba Díaz, who traveled from Tenerife to show their support and desire to collaborate with ATRIA Lanzarote. 

Also noteworthy was the attendance and support of the singer-songwriter Rosana, who closed the event confessing that she felt "surprised and excited" by the unity of the "Atrians" above acronyms or beliefs and offering her collaboration for future projects.

In the words of the president, Concha Saavedra, "ATRIA's main objective is to promote gender equality, the participation of women in all areas of society, as well as provide support and resources to empower women." Saavedra had special words of gratitude for the members of the outgoing board and, after presenting the new board, culminated her speech highlighting the "intention of the association" to be valuable for future projects developed on our island. We want to be an active part of the machinery of this society in which we live" and concluded, inviting all those present to join the Association to build "together and united" a better world.

The current board of directors is made up of the following nine women:
