The members of the Association of Primary Care Physicians of the Canary Islands ask the Management of Sanitary Services of Lanzarote for "transparency" in the publication of the hiring lists.
Last July, the association detected "possible irregularities" in the offer of interim positions to family doctors. After noticing these anomalies, the association sent a request to the medical directorate requesting that the "hiring lists be public", says the association's spokesperson, Elena Pérez, to La Voz.
"The request was returned" shortly after sending it, says the spokesperson. Afterwards, the association sent two more requests to the directorate, which were returned up to three times, without any response or explanation except that "it was not appropriate", adds Pérez.
"It is necessary to guarantee greater transparency in the process", points out the spokesperson. Furthermore, the association "does not know" the reasons why the requests have been rejected and they ask themselves "what is happening with the Management of Lanzarote?", she concludes.
