The Army deploys a 'Pedrator B' drone in Lanzarote for the visit of Pope Leo XIV to the Canary Islands

The Air and Space Army has deployed the Predator B at the Lanzarote Air Base within the security device that the Government of Spain has launched for the visit of Pope Leo XIV to the Canary Islands. It is a remote-controlled drone with eleven meters in length and a wingspan of twenty.

According to La Provincia, the Ministry of Defense will analyze its deployment capability outside its usual base in Talavera la Real, in Badajoz, during the Pope's visit on June 11 and 12.

The drone has a weight that reaches 4,780 kilos at its maximum capacity and can reach a speed of 450 kilometers per hour. In addition, it has an autonomy of 27 hours, being able to travel up to 1,850 kilometers.

The Predator B was successfully used in the California wildfires in 2007 and has been used by NASA, the National Security Agency (NSA), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
