Photographer Gustavo Medina has reviewed the year with a time lapse published on his Instagram profile of the evolution of the landscapes of Lanzarote throughout 2024 according to the weather, where the green caused by the rains and the abundant episodes of haze are the protagonists.
To carry out this work, Medina has had to wait many times for the right moment to be able to capture the perfect shot. "Everything depends on the situation, for example, in January I try to make a recording of what may represent this month, such as the fogs at dawn, or the rainbow in February," explains the photographer.
"In this work, what matters most is waiting for the situation to occur, and if it occurs, because that depends on nature, so the frequency is every time and thirty or forty days passed between shot and shot or you even looked for another image because the conditions could not be given," he indicates.
Regarding the meteorology of Lanzarote compared to other previous years, Medina says that "there has been a very notable increase in haze and rainfall is scarcer because, although it is an arid island, it is raining very below normal," he says. In addition, he also highlights "the episodes of haze during several Christmases in a row" which, he declares, "are quite worrying."
