For the second consecutive day, thermometers in Lanzarote have reached 40 degrees again. The forecast already warned that these two days would be extremely hot. In fact, this Friday, the State Meteorological Agency decided to activate the red alert from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. due to "extreme risk," which it extended until this Saturday.

At the station located at the airport, 40 degrees have been recorded this Saturday, followed by Tías, which reached 39.42, Haría with 34, and Playa Blanca, where they reached almost 34. The coolest municipality has been Tinajo, where it did not exceed 30 degrees.

This Sunday, the Agency lowers the warning level from red to orange. Thermometers will not exceed 38 degrees and will mainly affect midlands and west, south, and east slopes. Minimum temperatures will remain above 25 °C.

Regarding the haze, the yellow warning remains in effect throughout the day, and visibility will be reduced to 3000 meters, which will mainly affect peaks and midlands, and locally in coastal areas.

Temperatures drop on Monday

For Monday, the Agency has not activated any warnings for the island. According to AEMET, temperatures will register a moderate decrease, and may be locally more pronounced in the case of maximums, especially in Lanzarote. Regarding the haze, there is also no warning, and it will be widespread, mainly affecting high areas, tending to subside slightly during the day.
