During the month of July all nights were tropical for two municipalities of Lanzarote and in La Graciosa. These types of nights are those where the minimum temperature exceeds 20 degrees.

At the Airport of the island (San Bartolomé) and in the coastal town of Playa Blanca (Yaiza), the minimum was over twenty degrees. Thus, in Haría nine tropical nights were reached in the middle of the month, in Tinajo up to four and in Tías only one. While there is no data from Teguise. Also, the station that is located in the heliport of La Graciosa also detected 31 tropical nights on the eighth island.

Also, the province of Las Palmas suffered the third warmest July since 1961. As every month, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has sent its climatological advance. This document analyzes temperatures, rainfall, wind or the presence of haze on the islands in order to compare it with historical records and know how it evolves.

What is clear is that temperatures have not stopped rising for 62 years, since when the first records date. However, Lanzarote is not the island that suffers the most from the increase in temperatures. The Aemet station located at the Lanzarote Airport reached 35.1 degrees maximum on July 13. This day almost all the highest temperatures of the archipelago were recorded. La Graciosa also reached 28.9 degrees maximum.

Regarding the scarcity of rainfall, the province of Las Palmas experienced the eighth driest month since 1961. With an average of 87.7 mm of rain, most of it from the interior of Gran Canaria.

Thus, for the Archipelago, the current year (2022-2023) is being warm and dry. Also, temperatures are higher than usual and are close to more than one degree of average mismatch.
