The scientific and educational catamaran Gara Itsasoa will dock for three days at the Marina de Arrecife, in Lanzarote, to celebrate three days open to the public. The vessel can be visited on June 17, 18, and 19, between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM in the capital of Lanzarote.
Its promoters have defined it as "a unique project in Spain for its characteristics," which combines a floating laboratory, a maritime classroom, and an oceanic exploration platform.
On this catamaran, research, scientific dissemination, sustainability, and experiences linked to ocean knowledge come together.
People who visit the boat during these three days will be able to tour the catamaran, learn about its scientific equipment, and discover the different lines of work and collaboration that the project develops with institutions, universities, educational centers, companies, and entities linked to the marine environment.
The Gara Itsasoa was born with the objective of bringing the ocean closer to citizens from a more conscious, experiential, and educational perspective, creating a bridge between science and society in the Macaronesian region.
The visit represents an unusual opportunity to get to know "a vessel specifically designed to experience the ocean from within, combining technology, comfort, research, and environmental commitment."
To access a visit, it will be necessary to do so by prior request, through a registration form.
