Visit to the access lane to Argana Alta

The new access lane to Argana Alta, from the Arrecife Ring Road, has been open to traffic since this Friday. A work that will reduce the queues of vehicles that sometimes form at the entrance to the capital.

The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, and the vice president and councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, visited this new branch this Friday that will connect directly with the entrance to the Argana Alta neighborhood, without having to go through the roundabout first.

“When we came to the Government we gave priority to solving access to the General Hospital of Lanzarote, a historical demand in which we have been able to act in just over six months,” said the president, who thanked the workers in the area “the speed in executing this new lane.”

The vice president and councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, pointed out that this opening is “great news for the citizens of Lanzarote”. “This new branch will greatly mitigate the dangerous situations that were formed in the middle of the ring road, also generating a direct entrance to the most populated neighborhood of the capital,” he added.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Public Works area, has allocated a total amount of "603,312.8 euros" for this second phase of the transformation of access to the roundabout, and once the north branch is finished, the works focus on executing the "new lane" in the south direction, which will connect with the Titerroy neighborhood.

It should be remembered that the Cabildo executed, in the month of November, the first phase of the improvement of the accesses with the acceleration lane that allows vehicles to join the LZ-20 when they circulate on the adjoining road.
