The organization of Sonidos Líquidos has announced that the next festival event in La Geria will be held on June 5, 2027. Tickets for this new edition will go on sale this Friday, June 12, through the festival's usual channels.

Meanwhile, refunds have already been processed for tickets corresponding to the canceled event of last June 6, as well as for bus transportation tickets, in a process that, as highlighted by the organization, "has been carried out with the utmost agility possible."

In a statement, Sonidos Líquidos explains the reasons that led to the suspension of the main event planned for last weekend in La Geria. "There are difficult decisions that can only be made out of responsibility. The cancellation of the main event, scheduled for last June 6 in La Geria, was one of them," they state.

The organization details that the intense gusts of wind recorded during that day forced them to prioritize the safety of the public, artists, and workers. "A decision as painful as it was necessary," they point out, and which, they assure, was "widely understood and supported by hundreds of people."

The director of Sonidos Líquidos, Neftalí Acosta, thanked the support received during these days. "Obviously, we would have liked to experience the edition we had prepared with so much enthusiasm, but safety had to come first. What we take away is the affection, understanding, and support from many people who understood and supported the situation from the first moment. That gives us even more strength to continue working and to meet again in 2027," he affirms.

Furthermore, the organization highlights the spirit of resilience linked to La Geria and Lanzarote. "If there is one thing Lanzarote has taught throughout its history, it is that there is always a way to move forward," they state, recalling how the island knew how to reinvent itself after the volcanic eruptions.

Finally, Sonidos Líquidos wanted to expressly thank the support received from attendees, artists, sponsors, institutions, suppliers, and the festival's human team, as well as the work carried out by emergency and security services during the hours when the meteorological situation was being evaluated.

"Because there are festivals that end when the stages go dark. And there are others that remain alive in the trust of their audience," the statement concludes.
