Friday, August 8th is the deadline to submit the application for the Mercedes Medina Díaz Scholarships in the XV edition for students from Lanzarote who are going to pursue university studies.
The Scholarships are aimed at students from Lanzarote who have a good academic record and prove a lack of financial resources. Furthermore, it is essential that they are going to pursue university studies in public universities throughout the state aimed at obtaining a University Degree.

The requirements to apply will be to be born in Lanzarote or reside for a minimum of two years, complete the application form and attach proof of residence, Income 2025 and other documentation indicated at the end of the application form.
The economic endowment will be 3,600 euros distributed in 400 euros for nine months, starting in September. The applications will be submitted by email to asociaciónmercedesmedinadiaz@gmail.com
The jury will be composed of members of the MMD Association and two external members proposed by the Association. The decision will be made public at the end of August on the Association's website and in the Island's media.
The scholarship aims to enable the selected person to acquire basic cultural and academic university training. It will be awarded directly, taking into account academic achievement, the income and assets levels of the applicant's family unit, and special circumstances of the applicants.
Students pursuing distance university education who reside on the island and lack an associated or collaborating center may also apply for this scholarship.
The resolution will include a proposal of scholarship recipients and a list of two substitutes, composed in order of score, from among the accepted candidates who have not been awarded the scholarship.
