The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, led by Poli Suárez, began this Saturday a day of teaching opposition exams with the expected participation of 8,235 applicants distributed in twenty-five educational centers on five islands. The tests correspond to the bodies of Teachers, Secondary Education Teachers, Official Language Schools, Schools of Plastic Arts and Design, and Conservatories.

Of the total participants, 6,686 applicants are taking the tests for the body of Teachers, which concentrates the largest offer with 686 positions. Also participating are 833 applicants for the body of Secondary Education Teachers, for 192 positions; 162 in Official Language Schools, where seven positions are being offered; and 180 in Schools of Plastic Arts and Design, with fifteen positions offered. The Director General of Personnel and Teacher Training, Mónica Ramírez, explained that "this year, for the first time, candidates have submitted their teaching program in person before the exam, and subsequently, they will have to read it before the tribunal." Ramírez also conveyed "the Ministry's gratitude to the tribunals, management teams, and collaborating staff who make this large-scale operation possible." "We have spent many months preparing this process so that everything runs smoothly and with the utmost guarantees, and we are confident that the day will proceed as planned," she concluded.

The organization of the process includes venues in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and La Palma, thus facilitating applicants' access to the tests at different points in the archipelago.

Development

The day began with the administration of the first test for the Teachers corps. Exercises for the Schools of Plastic Arts and Design, Official School of Languages, and tests for the corps of Professors of Music and Performing Arts were also held in the morning.

In the afternoon, the exams will continue with the resolution of the practical case for the Teachers corps, as well as with the tests corresponding to the corps of Secondary Education Teachers and the corps of Music and Performing Arts Teachers.

The Ministry has coordinated all the necessary organizational aspects in recent months to ensure the proper development of the tests, which mobilize hundreds of people including members of the tribunals, management teams, administrative and service staff, and collaborating personnel at the different venues enabled for this selection process.
