A group of tourists starred in several imprudent acts behind the wheel in Lanzarote during their visit to the island. The videos were published a week ago by the Instagram profile of a clothing brand that has 458,000 followers.
Specifically, in one of the recordings, two of the tourists are observed on the roof of a moving car on the access road to Papagayo beach, which constitutes a very dangerous maneuver, both for themselves and for the rest of the drivers.
In another of the videos, one of the tourists rides on a moped sitting in the opposite direction of travel on the road towards Famara. At the same time, it is seen how several cars pass by her in the opposite direction.
These types of imprudence are infractions and entail sanctions by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).
The fines for riding backwards on a moped reach 200 euros, since passengers must always be seated in the direction of travel.
For its part, the penalties for riding seated on the roof of a moving vehicle are up to 500 euros and may include the withdrawal of points from the license. In addition, the Civil Guard or Local Police may proceed to immobilize the car.
