Bad weather in Tenerife forces several flights to be diverted, one from Lanzarote

Adverse weather at Tenerife North and La Palma airports has caused seven diversions and five flight cancellations this Thursday, according to Aena.

Weather conditions at Tenerife North have forced the diversion of four flights, while incidents at La Palma have caused another three diversions and the five cancellations.

Of the flights scheduled to land at Tenerife North, one from Malaga has been diverted to Gran Canaria and two others, originating from Lanzarote and Santiago de Compostela, have been directed to Tenerife South.

A fourth plane, which had departed from Gran Canaria bound for Tenerife North, has returned to its airport of origin.

In the case of La Palma, two flights from Tenerife North and Gran Canaria have returned to their respective departure airports, while another originating from Madrid has been diverted to Tenerife North.

In addition, four cancellations have been recorded on connections between La Palma and Tenerife North and one on those linking the island with Gran Canaria.
