The National Geographic Institute has again registered a new earthquake in the sea west of the island of Lanzarote and which, on this occasion, has had a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale.
Specifically, the tremor took place at 11:20 AM this Thursday at a depth of 30 kilometers, according to the IGN.
Furthermore, its epicenter took place at a latitude of 29.15 degrees north and a longitude of 14.34 degrees west.
Likewise, for the moment there are no indications that it has been felt by the population.
In this area of the archipelago, it is common for these earthquakes to occur due to the volcanic origin of the islands. In fact, the last ones that took place near this area reached a magnitude of between 2.5 and 3.0 on the Richter scale.
