Around a hundred residents gathered around 6:00 PM this Friday in Costa Teguise for the event called under the slogan “Hug to the skeleton,” a neighborhood initiative to denounce the security problems that, they claim, are being generated in the environment of the unfinished building located on Avenida de Las Palmeras.
The call took place in the Playa Roca area and proceeded with complete normality and without incident. The attendees demanded greater action regarding the situation that, according to them, affects coexistence and security in the area, referring to robberies, episodes of violence, drug use, and other problems linked to the environment of what is known as "the skeleton."
During the concentration, signatures were also collected, which will be delivered soon to the Teguise City Council to request measures that allow for improved security and the recovery of tranquility in the area.
Some of the protesters also indicated their intention to attend the next Teguise City Council plenary session, scheduled for Wednesday, with the aim of making their protest visible and personally conveying their demands to the municipal corporation.
Among the people who attended the meeting were the councilor for Police, Ginés González; the councilor for Sports, Alejandro Ramírez; and the socialist councilor Marcos Bergaz.
Likewise, Local Police and Civil Guard agents moved to the site to carry out preventive work and ensure that the concentration proceeded without problems.
