The Environment agents of Lanzarote have located the alleged perpetrator of the dumping of beer bottles that were habitually occurring in El Jable, a natural space of special ecological value included in the Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) Chinijo Archipelago.
The discovery has been disseminated by the Environment Lanzarote profile on the social network X, where the agents have expressed their confidence that this situation has come to an end after identifying the responsible person.
In the shared images, an important quantity of beer bottles abandoned in the terrain is observed, as well as their subsequent removal and storage in containers in a vehicle of the Environment agents.
From the environmental body, they have warned of the impact that this type of behavior can have in an especially sensitive environment, where species of conservation interest inhabit, such as the Saharan wheatear, the Canarian bustard, and the endemic beetle Pimelia lutaria.
"We trust that this situation that habitually occurred in El Jable [...] has ceased after the Environment agents found the cause," the publication states.
The action highlights the importance of monitoring and preserving this natural space of Lanzarote, especially vulnerable to dumping and abandonment of waste that can alter its ecosystems.
