The airline Jet2 has banned for life a couple around fifty years old from flying with their company after engaging in improper conduct on board during a flight this past Thursday from Leicester to Gran Canaria, according to the outlet WalesOnline.

According to this media outlet, since the beginning of the flight, which lasted four hours, the couple engaged in "lewd acts", that is, of a sexual nature in full flight before the astonished gaze of the other passengers.

After noticing these behaviors, the passengers alerted the flight attendants, who even considered turning back and returning to the airport of origin. When they were called out, both responded that "they were praying because it was their first time flying on a plane".

Some passengers told The Sun newspaper that the couple barely disguised their movements. "It was incredibly brazen, there was a lot of movement in their tracksuit bottoms," said one of them, who stated that "my wife and I were shocked and disgusted."

After these events, the airline denied the couple boarding on the return flight and, furthermore, they were also expelled from their hotel where they were staying.

In an official statement, Jet2 confirmed that both "have been banned for life" and that "as a family airline and holiday company, we have a zero-tolerance attitude towards appalling behaviour like this".
