The National Police Union EYA has announced its disagreement with the measure adopted by the civil Association Jusapol, in which it is prohibited to campaign and the subsequent vote to the different police stations nationwide, including the local National Police station in Arrecife.
"That association is not legitimized to file any appeal", recalls Natán, General Secretary of "Equiparación EYA". "Through these very cautious measures, the electoral candidacy to the EYA union is taken out", he makes clear.
The main reason for stopping the campaign and "the corresponding votes" has been the alleged fact that the industrial design of some bracelets for the sale of Merchandising that the Jusapol Association registered are being used by the EYA Union and by the police union Jupol.
"What Jusapol does is deceive the Superior Court of Justice by making it believe that it is a union when it is a civil association, composed of National Police and Civil Guards, relatives and sympathizers", it collects.
"Jusapol uses the Jupol union giving it powers so that in its name, it denounces this before the Court", points out the General Secretary. Therefore, "we are going to initiate the nullity of the lawsuit filed against our union", Natán makes clear.
"These are the third elections in which Jusapol and Jupol are being judicialized, for not allowing the other candidacies to present themselves", since apparently "these gentlemen do not like to have electoral competition", the General Secretary remarks.
The Delegate of the EYA Union in the Local Police Station of Arrecife, Amador Gutiérrez, makes it clear that "the union had already registered it a year ago, in 2022". In addition, when "we registered the union, no disagreement was shown with the name before in the Electoral Board", Natán collects.
They say that "it generates confusion when voting within the police force", Guiérrez comments in relation to the argument of the Jupol Association to take that measure. "They have paralyzed the campaign for three days and we have to wait for the Court to rule", confirms Amador.
In addition, he points out that it is "an attempt to sabotage the elections within the Police" and a strategy that "they have pulled out of their sleeve to harm us". He admits that "we are being deprived of a right", in addition to "making us remove all the posters".
"All the other unions have left the posters and are campaigning, but they don't let us", reveals the delegate. "Something that harms us since the campaign began on the 12th in view of the vote on June 28", he anticipates. It also "affects at the national level, although it has affected us in the local National Police station of Arrecife", he confirms.
He assures that "we are presenting an appeal to the Courts so that they readmit the candidacy, this Monday our president has done it", concludes the EYA delegate.
