Young paraglider rescued by helicopter after suffering a fall in Haría

A 27-year-old German paraglider has been rescued by helicopter after suffering a fall in a difficult-to-access area near Cantería beach, in the municipality of Haría. The incident took place at approximately 12:00 noon this Wednesday.

Once the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) was alerted, agents from the Local Police, the Civil Guard, an ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service, firefighters from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, and Emerlan personnel were dispatched to the scene.

The firefighters verified that the location of the fall was difficult to access, so they requested the assistance of the GES helicopter, which ultimately evacuated the young woman by air.

The helicopter transferred her to the Guacimeta airport, where an ambulance from the SUC was waiting for her. However, according to sources at Cecoes speaking to La Voz, the young woman refused medical assistance.
