The National Police has recently arrested a volleyball player and coach in the Canary Islands for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
The events that occurred in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria have been investigated by the Unit for Attention to Family and Women (UFAM) and took place last December 2025 at the detainee's home.
According to the investigation carried out, the detainee and the victim knew each other previously, having been the minor's coach up to two seasons prior. The alleged sexual assault occurred against the minor's will at the detainee's home. He had allegedly provided his address and phone number through conversations on a social network.
The investigations carried out by UFAM led to the location and arrest of the coach under investigation as the alleged perpetrator of the events. Once arrested, the alleged aggressor has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
