A vehicle caught fire while in motion on the LZ-1 road in the direction of Arrecife, according to the Emergency Consortium.
The incident took place around 7:00 PM when the driver noticed flames coming from the engine and was able to park and get out of the vehicle unharmed.
Once alerted by the CECOES, Local Police officers, Volunteer Firefighters of Lanzarote, and the Consortium were dispatched.
The first to arrive at the scene were the firefighters from Boluntis, who began extinguishing the flames and were eventually assisted by the Consortium's personnel.
Police officers were in charge of regulating traffic and preparing the corresponding report.
