Two of those involved in the Argana brawl were drunk and drugged and started arguing in a bar

The National Police does not rule out arresting more people for the fight that resulted in two of the participants with serious injuries and three detainees

The National Police, in collaboration with the Local Police of Arrecife, arrested three people on September 19 for their participation in a violent fight that took place at noon in the Argana Alta area, in the capital of Lanzarote, as reported by La Voz

The brawl, which occurred in the vicinity of a bar already known for similar incidents, had serious consequences. Upon the arrival of the police units, one of the participants was seriously injured, so he was urgently evacuated to the General Hospital by medicalized health units. The other, also in serious condition, had a cut in the neck area that reached the carotid artery, and was also treated at the hospital.

After the first steps at the scene and with the collaboration of citizens, the agents identified the alleged aggressors, managing to arrest three of them hours later. The investigation remains open and further arrests are not ruled out.

One of those arrested had recently been in pre-trial detention for another violent assault that left a foreign citizen with serious consequences in Puerto del Carmen, as reported by La Voz and has been publicly confirmed by the National Police.

A dispute inside the bar

Investigations indicate that the discussion began inside the bar, where two of those involved were under the influence of alcohol and drugs, leading minutes later to a scuffle on public roads in which three people attacked a fourth.

Given the seriousness of the events, the National Police has reinforced prevention devices in the area, given the recurrence of this type of incident in neighborhoods with social conflict.

The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which ordered provisional imprisonment for one of them and release with charges for the other two.
