Agents of the Civil Guard from the Costa Teguise Post have arrested two minors as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation in a residential complex in this tourist town.
The events became known after a notice from the Central Operations Service (COS). According to the victim, of British nationality, they were in their room in the company of their spouse, when two individuals entered the room, wielding knives with the aim of intimidating the victims.
The perpetrators uttered threats and demanded the surrender of their belongings, among them a mobile phone, credit cards, apartment card/key, and the keys to the rental vehicle. After becoming aware of the facts, the officers initiated an investigation to locate the alleged perpetrators.
They were staying in a tourist complex
After receiving another phone alert warning that, in another tourist complex in the same town, Costa Teguise, a cleaning employee of the establishment, upon proceeding with the cleaning of one of the rooms, found inside two males staying overnight. And that, according to the complex's records, said room was not listed as occupied nor was there a valid lodging contract.
At that moment, the agents are transferred to the scene to carry out the appropriate checks and proceed with the identification of those involved, also observing the existence of various objects whose origin cannot be accredited at that instant by any of those involved, there being rational indications that they could be the result of an illicit act against property.
Likewise, the investigated incurred in contradictions in his statements. After the meticulous analysis of the security recordings corresponding to the reported events, the full identification of the alleged perpetrators was achieved. These were recognized without any kind of doubt as responsible for the criminal offense, based on their physiognomy, clothing, and other previously contrasted physical characteristics.
Facts brought to the attention of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office
After comparing the items found in the room with the inventory of stolen objects, the agents confirmed that they were the same articles. Afterwards, the civil guards identified and arrested the two minors for a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation with a bladed weapon and another of theft. The investigation of the corresponding proceedings was taken over by the Investigation team of the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise and the facts were reported to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Las Palmas.
