Civil Guard agents from Yaiza have arrested the two men, aged 24 and 50, involved in a fight in broad daylight in Playa Blanca, the tourist town in the south of Lanzarote.

As La Voz has learned, the police investigation was carried out in collaboration between the Local Police of Yaiza and Civil Guard agents. Both forces intervened after being informed of a fight that occurred on Avenida de Papagayo, in the aforementioned coastal town.

The events took place on November 1st in broad daylight. However, it was not until the following day, November 2nd, when one of the participants in the brawl, A.P.S.L., reported that he had been assaulted.

The complainant, a 50-year-old man, who is seen in images disseminated by witnesses receiving several blows to the head, stated at the police station that the fight began because the detainee J.S.P.O. allegedly tried to rob a nightclub he owned.

The Local Police of Yaiza handed over to the Civil Guard agents the images that capture the moments before they got into a fistfight. In them, it is observed how the 50-year-old man drives along the avenue and sees the 24-year-old. At that moment, he parks in the middle of the road and gets out of the vehicle holding a stick with a rake.

"Nothing is wrong, I will take justice into my own hands," uttered the 50-year-old detainee. Subsequently, both got into a fight, which ended with the older of the men lying on the ground and the young man giving him several punches to the head.

Both have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of a less serious crime of injury, to which is added that the police attribute to A.P.S.L. a less serious crime of threats.
