Two deceased after a head-on collision between a bus and a car in Lanzarote

At least one person has been trapped inside the car and initial reports indicate several injured, including a minor with a fractured arm

Two people have died in the car involved in the head-on collision registered on Thursday afternoon on the road connecting Playa Blanca with Yaiza, according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.

The accident occurred after the Repsol gas station, in the direction of Arrecife, and mobilized numerous emergency personnel.

According to data provided by emergency services, the bus was carrying the driver and eight passengers. As a result of the incident, one person was injured.

In the car, there was also a minor of about eight years old who, apparently, is in good condition. The child has been evacuated by ambulance to Molina Orosa for medical evaluation.

Local Police and Civil Guard agents, several ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), and personnel from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium have traveled to the scene, intervening in the care of those affected and in securing the area.
