National Police agents, assigned to the Narcotics Judicial Police Group of the Telde Local Police Station, have arrested two men as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug trafficking, serious threats, coercion, resistance, and disobedience.

The police operation began after a report filed by a resident of the municipality, who stated he was **being subjected to death threats and continuous pressure** by two individuals involved in drug dealing.According to the investigation, the now-detained individuals habitually supplied them with drugs, generating a **financial debt** that was subsequently used as a means of control and subjugation

As a result of this debt, the investigated individuals began to coerce and seriously threaten the victim, forcing them to transport drugs between islands. In one of these episodes, the reporting person was forced to travel to the island of Lanzarote carrying narcotic substances hidden, facts that were duly verified during the police investigation.

On January 18, 2026, the victim refused to carry out a new transfer, which led to an **increase in threats**, which became particularly serious and generated a well-founded fear for their physical integrity and that of their family.

Given the seriousness of the events, the officers established a police surveillance and control operation that allowed them to locate and intercept one of those involved as he was going to pick up the victim, proceeding to his arrest.

Subsequently, the second person under investigation was arrested, thereby guaranteeing the safety of the complainant. Once the police proceedings were concluded, **the detainees were brought before the judicial authorities**
