A 70-year-old tourist has died at noon this Wednesday while swimming on a beach in Puerto del Carmen, in Tías. According to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the man had gone swimming in the sea.
The events occurred around 2:15 PM this Wednesday, in front of the Hotel Jameos, in the tourist town of Tías.
His wife alerted the beach lifeguards that she could not find her husband, who had gone swimming. After an emergency device was deployed in the area, the man's lifeless body was located by a helicopter and rescued by firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.
