A court has sent to provisional prison the local police officer and five other arrested individuals in Gran Canaria after dismantling a presumed criminal organization involved in drug trafficking that operated in the archipelago.
Of the seven arrested in the framework of the so-called Operation Tijuana, the Court has decided to release only one of them from prison. The rest of the arrested individuals, including the local police officer, will go to prison.
Within the framework of the investigation, carried out over a year by agents of the Central Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit (UDYCO) and the UDYCO of Las Palmas, seven people were arrested, one of them a Local Police officer from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The National Police considered the seven arrested individuals to be "members of the criminal network" and managed to dismantle the infrastructure used for the storage and distribution of narcotic substances.
