A traffic accident registered on Friday night on the LZ-40 highway, near Rancho Texas, in Puerto del Carmen, resulted in three people injured and required the intervention of several units from the Lanzarote and La Graciosa Security and Emergency Consortium.

The incident occurred around 11:18 p.m., after the CECOES alerted emergency services to a collision on this road. Upon arrival, firefighters located a first vehicle that had impacted the safety barrier in the direction of Arrecife. Its sole occupant was already being attended to by medical services.

About 50 meters from the first car was a second vehicle involved in the accident. The passenger was trapped inside, so the personnel had to carry out extrication work to free her and facilitate her evacuation to an ambulance.

The driver of this second vehicle had managed to get out on her own before the arrival of emergency services and also received medical assistance at the scene.

After attending to the injured and extricating the trapped occupant, the emergency teams completed the safety and assistance tasks resulting from the accident.

Police officers were responsible for securing the area, regulating traffic, and preparing the corresponding report.
