Three dogs died this Monday in a house fire in Arrecife, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The fire took place at 6:25 p.m. on Luis Braile street in the capital of Lanzarote. Once alerted by the CECOES, agents of the Local Police, firefighters and an ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service moved to the scene.
When the emergency teams arrived, they found that the fire had occurred in a three-story block of flats and that the fire was located on the ground floor. The flames were coming out through the main door and the living room window.
In addition, the entrance door to the house had been forced by a neighbor to try to get the three dogs that were barking inside out. The firefighters began to extinguish the fire and located the animals, two on the upper floor and the other on the ground floor, all in cardiorespiratory arrest due to smoke inhalation. The firefighters, together with the paramedics, performed CPR and oxygen therapy on them, resulting in death.
The house was completely affected, the ground floor by the flames and the upper floor by the smoke.
