National Police agents from the Arrecife Local Police Station have arrested two men and one woman as alleged perpetrators of several crimes of theft with force, including one committed by ramming a service station located on the highway connecting Arrecife with Playa Honda, in Lanzarote.
The events occurred during the early morning of October 11, around one in the morning, when three hooded individuals used a previously stolen vehicle to ram the entrance of the establishment and gain access to its interior.
After destroying the access door and causing significant material damage, the perpetrators took several packs of cigarettes and quickly left the scene in the same vehicle. Subsequently, the National Police arrived at the establishment after receiving notice of what had happened and verified the damage caused.
Shortly after, the vehicle used in the ramming was located in the Playa Honda area, where those involved had abandoned it to continue their escape in another car.
The investigation led to the identification of the three involved
Agents of the Arrecife Local Judicial Police Brigade initiated an investigation that allowed them to reconstruct what happened and identify the alleged perpetrators.
The inquiries revealed that the vehicles used were linked to robberies committed in the parking lots of car rental companies at Lanzarote airport.
The investigation involved the collaboration of the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé and led to the recovery of three stolen vehicles, as well as 23 packs of cigarettes from the affected establishment, which were returned to its manager.
Once the alleged perpetrators were identified, investigators carried out the necessary procedures for their location.
Finally, on October 27 and 28, the National Police arrested the three individuals, two men and one woman, in Arrecife for their alleged participation in the investigated events.
After completing the police proceedings, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
