Emerlan and the healthcare personnel of the Canary Emergency Service managed to save the life this Friday of a 30-year-old young woman who was on a boat in Puerto del Carmen and who had suffered cardiorespiratory arrest, according to Emerlan.
The events occurred around 1:15 PM, at which time the boat arrived at the La Tiñosa Pier requesting assistance. Immediately, the Emerlan team moved to the pontoon, where they confirmed that inside the boat there was an unconscious woman.
They quickly proceeded to extract her to the pontoon and began an initial assessment by the nurse and Emerlan emergency technicians. After this assessment, it was confirmed that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers were immediately initiated.
In parallel, the 112 was alerted, requesting the urgent activation of an Advanced Life Support ambulance, as well as the presence of State Security Forces and Corps.
Upon the arrival of the Canary Emergency Service resources, a Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support ambulance, the SUC healthcare personnel took over the assistance, with the support of the Emerlan team.
After the resuscitation maneuvers, they managed to reverse the cardiorespiratory arrest and recover pulse, so they proceeded to a second mobilization and extraction of the patient through the pontoon to the ambulance, from where she was evacuated in critical condition by the SUC to the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital.
The Local Police of Tías, Guardia Civil, port security, and Canary Ports also traveled to the scene.
