The Lanzarote Rescue and Emergency Service Association (Emerlan) deployed a large health device during the concert of the Colombian artist Sebastián Yatra, coinciding with the end of the San Ginés festivities in Arrecife, which was attended by more than 65,000 people.

Emerlan's intervention managed to save the life of a 43-year-old man, who was suffering a seizure in a restaurant near the event. The incident occurred when the man, who subsequently lost consciousness, began to convulse. Those present immediately called 112, who quickly contacted the Operational Coordination Center (CECOP) of EMERLAN, aware of the urgency of the situation.

Faced with the emergency, the CECOP mobilized a rapid intervention vehicle (VIR), located near the Gran Hotel Arrecife and an advanced life support ambulance (SVA) in the vicinity of the Hotel Lancelot. Upon arrival, they stabilized the patient by administering intravenous medication, ensuring the permeability of the airway and monitoring his vital signs.

The patient was transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital with a serious initial diagnosis. According to the most recent information, he is stable within the severity.

This incident underscores the importance of having a well-established Operational Coordination Center at large events and the need for full coordination with the CANARIAS 112 Coordination Center. The prior planning and coordination between EMERLAN and Civil Protection of Arrecife was crucial for the rapid and effective response to this emergency.

EMERLAN appreciates the collaboration and support of the Local Police of Arrecife, the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Arrecife, the National Police, the Traffic Civil Guard, Lanzalud, the Emergency Consortium and the City Council staff. It also expresses its gratitude to the Mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and to the Councilor for Festivities headed by Echedey Eugenio, for the trust placed in the organization.

Finally, from Emerlan they highlight and appreciate the professional work of the 56 workers and 85 volunteers of EMERLAN, who, day after day, demonstrate their commitment and dedication in "the noble task of saving lives and assisting the citizens of Lanzarote, La Graciosa and the Canary Islands."
