The waves surprised the passengers of a ferry to Órzola last Sunday. The boat was leaving from La Graciosa to Lanzarote when during the journey the waves flooded its interior.
As can be seen in the video accessed by La Voz, the travelers were sitting watching the storm through the windows of the boat, at which point the water entered covering the floor of the entire boat.
One of the passengers who was standing had to lean on the tables to avoid falling with the impact of the waves, which entered the ferry with force.
An incident caused by the high and rough seas that was already forecast for last weekend. The Government of the Canary Islands declared a pre-alert for risk of flooding in Lanzarote and, in addition, the State Meteorological Agency decreed a yellow warning for coastal phenomena during Sunday with a combined sea from the North of four meters. The warning ended this Monday at dawn at 03:00 hours.
