The Emergency Consortium has ended the second day of searching for Pepe Acuña without results, who disappeared this Monday when he went to look for winkles in the Caletón Blanco area. The search by land, sea and air will resume first thing Wednesday morning.
The Consortium's personnel began the search for the missing person this Monday, and this Tuesday the GES, Maritime Rescue and Civil Guard helicopters have joined, as well as a vessel from the Government of the Canary Islands, the Eco Sierra. There are also Emerlan personnel and firefighters from the island, who have been joined by Civil Protection volunteers from Yaiza and Arrecife.
As will be recalled, the complainant alerted the authorities on the afternoon of January 27, quickly initiating a search operation in the area. During the morning of this Tuesday, January 28, a family member formalizes the report of the disappearance in the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise and it was communicated that the disappeared had gone to shellfish gathering since 3:30 p.m., having no more news, having as the only information that he was going to the search area.
