The driver and alleged perpetrator of having knocked down part of a wall of the recently renovated Las Palmas square in Arrecife has shown his full willingness to collaborate with the Local Police of the capital, as confirmed by City Council sources to La Voz.

The vehicle, a delivery van, collided on Wednesday morning with this area next to the Church of San Ginés, which has heritage protection as a Good of Cultural Interest (BIC).

Following this incident, the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, ordered the Local Police to investigate these events to clarify the circumstances in which they occurred, given a possible heritage crime.

The Local Police have highlighted the total collaboration of the driver, who quickly contacted the officers after the accident. Now, the investigation remains open to determine what type of maneuver the alleged perpetrator was performing and how everything happened.

Similarly, it is believed that it could all have been the result of recklessness by the driver, as La Voz has learned.
