National Police agents have prevented a 48-year-old man from losing his life in Arrecife by preventing him from jumping into the void from a warehouse.

The events took place in the early hours of Monday, after the National Police received a call on the 091 telephone number from a woman, alerting them that her ex-partner intended to take his own life. Thus, the agents immediately went to an abandoned warehouse in the capital where they were both located.

After maintaining a conversation to try to calm him down and change his mind, one of the national police officers lunged at the man until he restrained him,
thus preventing him from throwing himself into the void and putting him to safety.

After a few minutes, an ambulance arrived at the scene, which took care of the man and transferred him to a hospital in the capital where he was admitted.
